How quickly can you edit my content?
At Edit Owl, we know that getting high-quality content up on your website is a priority, and we work round the clock to accommodate tight deadlines. Short pages can be edited in as little as a few hours. Large websites will usually take a few days. Whatever the situation, we will always give you a time estimate beforehand.
Will I hear from you during the editing process?
Editing is inherently a collaborative process, and at Edit Owl we care about making sure your writing conveys exactly your vision and message. That’s why during the editing process we’ll ask you about parts of your content that may be unclear. It is all a part of our commitment to helping you become a better communicator.
What if I don’t agree with one of your edits?
Your content belongs to you, and ultimately you decide what goes in it. Our goal is to improve its quality and show you how good it can be; but you have final say over which edits to keep and which to let go. This is why we record all of our edits with the “Track Changes” feature found in most word-processing programs. If you ever wonder why we made a particular change, just ask. We want everything to be crystal clear.
What if I want you to edit only certain aspects of my writing?
Just let us know. If you’re confident about your grammar but need help clarifying your overall message, or if you’re only interested in adding keywords that will help your site’s search engine ranking, no problem. Let us know what you want, and we’ll be happy to accommodate. It would also help us to know a bit about your website in general; for example, its purpose, your audience, how often you publish, if you are using a particular style guide (i.e. Associated Press, Chicago, etc.), and so on.
Can you put it in writing?
Every service we perform comes with an industry-standard contract. The contract outlines all of the terms of our editing service in easy-to-understand language. It will include an explanation of the editing work your content will receive, the deadline, our price rate, and any other details specific to your content.
How do I send my content to you for editing?
You can send it by either uploading it to our contact form or emailing it to the address at the top of this page. If your content is already online, you could also send us the URL.
What format should my content be in?
If your content is already online, simply send us the URL, and we’ll copy it into an appropriate format for editing. Otherwise, we ask that you send it in a popular format, such as Microsoft Word. We also accept content in OpenOffice Writer, Zoho Writer, Google Docs, Apple Pages, plain text, rich text, and HTML.
